I may be Short, I may be Broke, I may not be the prettiest, the strongest or the brightest person in the room, but, My God, I’m ME and I’m a Child of God and I’m just where I’m supposed to be! AND, Come hell or high water, I am going to be just fine and this will be the Best Year of my Life, So Help me GOD! AMEN! :D
“Who is going to save our Church? Not our bishops, not our priests and religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes, the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that your priests act like priests, your bishops, like bishops, and your religious act like religious.”—
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, before the Knights of Columbus, June 1972
“To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”—Ralph Waldo Emerson (via quotethat)
Feeling so humbled, yet excited! Was asked to become a Mentor to someone interested in the Catholic faith! We had our 1st lesson today, by going to Morning Mass. She loved the solemnity and sacred aspect of the Mass. Alleluia! Some of us “Catholics” don’t even realize what a gift we have in the Celebration of the Eucharist. Prayers and any suggestions on how to properly guide her would be greatly appreciated… Any suggestions? :-)
“The world hastens to its ruin, it will fall into the abyss… The world is rebellious against God, it commits too many sins, it has neither love nor peace. If you do not repent and do not convert your hearts, you will fall into the abyss.”—Our Lady of Kibeho… Pray for us!
Today, while I read the 1st Reading from the Book of Wisdom, my voice began to shake and my legs did too! I don’t know what it means, but, I suspect that while I was reading a verse about God’s Mercy, I was also aware of the fact that we are running out of time, and quickly! As the Lord calls us closer to Himself, let us pray for those who do not know Him and Love Him and for the Grace to carry on! AMEN! God Bless you, my fellow Christian/Catholic Brothers and Sisters! :D
“The darkness that poses a real threat to mankind, after all, is the fact that he can see and investigate tangible material things, but cannot see where the world is going or whence it comes, where our own life is going, what is good and what is evil. The darkness enshrouding God and obscuring values is the real threat to our existence and to the world in general. If God and moral values, the difference between good and evil, remain in darkness, then all other “lights”, that put such incredible technical feats within our reach, are not only progress but also dangers that put us and the world at risk. —”—POPE BENEDICT XVI, Easter Vigil Homily, April 7th, 2012
Sitting here at Eucharistic Adoration it occurs to me, I’ve been told I should become a Nun… Should I? I am happiest when spending time with The Lord, but, am I truly called to serve in that way? As time goes on, I find myself more and more praying all the time, giving thanks constantly, having conversations with God and becoming more and more withdrawn from the world. But am I called to live in communion with other women of like mind and goals? Maybe yes, maybe no.. I am assured of one thing, God will let me know! :D
“You say grace before meals. All right. But I say grace before the concert and the opera, and grace before the play and pantomime, and grace before I open a book, and grace before sketching, painting, swimming, fencing, boxing, walking, playing, dancing and grace before I dip the pen in the ink.”
“I have come to set the earth on fire,
and how I wish it were already blazing!
There is a baptism with which I must be baptized,
and how great is my anguish until it is accomplished!
Do you think that I have come to establish peace on the earth?
No, I tell you, but rather division.
From now on a household of five will be divided,
three against two and two against three;
a father will be divided against his son
and a son against his father,
a mother against her daughter
and a daughter against her mother,
a mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law
and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”—Jesus to his Disciples, Luke 12:49-53, Gospel Reading for Thursday, 10/24/13…
Brothers & Sisters, I invite you all to 15 minutes of Prayers each day at 8pm, wherever you are; for the intentions of our families (immediate and extended), for our friends (close and acquaintances), for your Country, and for the World! This world is getting crazier and crazier, if you look with the eyes of Faith and the need to be united has never been greater! You may be doing this already, but, praying as a group will surely be pleasing to the Father and may just enhance our lives too! Shalom! :D
Words from Jesus to His tired and beleaguered children… Have Faith and Believe in the Power of Prayer and in the Powerful Intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, Queen of Heaven and Our Holy and Divine Co-Redemptrix! :D
