O Jesus Christ, I acknowledge you as universal King. All that has been made has been created for You. Exercise all Your rights over me. I renew my Baptismal Vows. I renounce Satan, his pomps and his works; I promise to live as a good Christian. And, in particular do I pledge myself to labor, to the best of my ability, for the triumph of the rights of God and of Your Church. Divine Heart of Jesus, to You do I offer my poor services, laboring that all hearts may acknowledge Your sacred kingship, and that thus the reign of Your peace be established throughout the whole universe. Amen.
A shot of my personal altar at home…We should all have a special place where we honor Our Lord and give thanks to him for all that He provides, AMEN!
I don’t have cable at my house. I haven’t had it for over a year and frankly I don’t miss it…much. I do like to keep up with the news, however, especially that which points to “end time” events. I usually rely on the internet, family or friends for news and information. So, as I was perusing the latest headlines on Yahoo! this morning, I came across an article entitled, “4 quick rituals for a better day”. Rituals, I thought, sounds kinda new age like to me and that’s usually something I just don’t pay much attention to, ready to dismiss it… I decided to take a look anyway at what the “experts had to say;
1. Eat the same breakfast every day
2. Savor your coffee
3. Write an ignore list
4. Turn off your mind for a few minutes
Now, being the person I’ve become to be, I immediately saw the value and wisdom in this advice from a Christian perspective;
1= Feed the soul every morning in prayer-I usually start the day with two short prayers and/or Mass.
2= Give thanks to God for his goodness and the food with which he provides-I usually thank God at every meal.
3= Leave that which you cannot handle to God…Lean on Him.
4= Spend some quite time with God-He is just dying to talk to us and he just can’t do it when our minds are constantly chattering’
You may be doing all these things already and if so that’s great! But, if you’re not, why not try it. Simplifying our lives truly leads to a more peace filled and joyous inner self. And with God on our side, who can be against us? May the Peace of Jesus Christ be with You! AMEN! :-)
I'm curious as to why you picked St. Gemma as your patron saint? She's not mine, but she is a particular favorite of mine to ask for prayer from.
I didn’t pick her, she picked me! While I was looking for my patron saint, Saint Maria Goretti, among other Saint’s Relic’s, I felt someone tucking me from behind. I turned around and there was Saint Gemma ( her pic and relic). I had never heard of her before so I looked for further info about her. I found that she is a kindred soul. I have being asking for her intersession ever since…Thanks for asking. God Bless!
