Listening to the Lord…
While on the way to buy some concerts ticket in another town, I heard/felt the tug of the Lord saying, “Don’t go, stay here!…and go to the farmer’s market in town..”  So just as I was on my way to the freeway I got off  at the downtown exit.  I found no red lights and found parking right near the market.  Excited as to what the Lord had for me, my eyes immediately noticed these beautiful Iris flowers.  How the Lord knows me so well! I have loved these flowers for years and rarely find them in such perfect form.  Thank you Lord, for keeping me grounded and in check! AMEN! :)

Why go to Confession, why repent?

I don’t know about you, but, I like going to confession now.  I didn’t use to, of course.  I thought it was a big waste of time.  I can talk to God, myself, right? Plus, I haven’t killed anyone or committed any of the other deadly sins yet. Well, what I’ve discovered is that this sacrament, and it is a sacrament, is as important to your soul as going to Mass and receiving Communion.  I find it to be akin to getting a tune-up, an oil change of sorts for my soul.  The priest, embodying Christ, takes your offenses (sins) and applies an applicable penance.  This gives the soul time to reflect and make a conscious decision to “sin no more”.  Now being human, as we are, it’s often hard to not sin once we leave the confessional.  We are prone to evil thoughts and evil deeds.  We are self-centered, self-serving and self-indulgent.  It takes hard work and determination to take a Christ-like view of the world. However, with the gift of confession, our sins are wiped away. We become pure and unblemished, even if it’s just for a brief moment.  We are bestowed the grace of holiness and of closer union with Our Lord…So, why not make this regular habit? At least once per month or more. It certainly won’t hurt you and it will only make you stronger (in faith).  Repent and believe the good news, Heaven is attainable! For our Lord, who is all Love, all Mercy and all Goodness truly seeks our best interests…Eternal life with HIM! AMEN! God Bless and Peace be with you! :)

Silence is a sword in the spiritual struggle.  A talkative soul will never attain sanctity. the sword of silence will cut off everything that would like to cling to the soul. We are sensitive to words and quickly want to answer back, without taking any regard as to whether it is God’s will that we should speak. A silent soul is strong; no adversities will harm it if it perseveres in silence. The silent soul is capable of attaining the closest union with God. It lives almost always under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. God works in a silent soul without hindrance.

Words from St. Faustina on attaining a closer relationship with God, Notebook 1, entry 477.

Sounds so simple but yet, it is so difficult to attain.  Help me Lord in quieting my heart and soul to better hear your Holy Words…AMEN!

In whatever state a soul may be, it ought to pray. A soul which is pure and beautiful must pray, or else it will lose its beauty; a soul which is striving after this purity must pray, or else it will never attain it; a soul which is newly converted must pray, or else it will fall again; a sinful soul, plunged in sins, must pray so that it might rise again. There is no soul which is not bound to pray, for every single grace comes to the soul through prayer. AMEN!
