God is a fire that warms and kindles the heart and inward parts. Hence, if we feel in our hearts the cold which comes from the devil, for the devil is cold; let us call on the Lord. He will come to warm our hearts with perfect love, not only for Him but also for our neighbor, and the cold of him who hates the good will flee before the heat of His countenance.

Protect me, oh Blessed Mother…

O Blessed Mother of Salvation, protect me in my hour of need, when I am confronted with evil.

Help me to defend the Word of God with strength and courage, without any fear in my soul.

Pray that I remain loyal to the Teachings of Christ and that I can fully surrender my fears, my worries and my sadness, completely.

Help me, so that I can walk fearlessly ahead on this lonely path, in order to proclaim the Truth of the Holy Word of God, even when the enemies of God make this task almost impossible.

O Blessed Mother, I ask that, through your intercession, the faith of all Christians remains strong, at all times, during the persecution.  Amen.

Gospel Mk 3:1-6

The Gospel today, 1/09/2013;

Jesus entered the synagogue.
There was a man there who had a withered hand.
They watched Jesus closely
to see if he would cure him on the sabbath
so that they might accuse him.
He said to the man with the withered hand,
“Come up here before us.”
Then he said to the Pharisees,
“Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil,
to save life rather than to destroy it?”
But they remained silent.
Looking around at them with anger
and grieved at their hardness of heart,
Jesus said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.”
He stretched it out and his hand was restored.
The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel
with the Herodians against him to put him to death.

Oh my Lord, touch the hardened hearts of Man in these end times! For surely, they do and will continue to persecute You and Your disciples now as they did during your time on earth.  Give us the strength to heal the sick, comfort those in distress and proclaim your Holy Word through the prompting of the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever and until our dying breath! AMEN!

Just a thought…

Why is that those who are closest to us, sometimes tend to be the most self-centered, self-serving, and selfish people in the world? Try as I might to understand where they are coming from I find that what comes most immediately to mind is that they don’t often know just how their actions effect those around them and so they happily go forth giving birth to destruction, fostering discontent and maliciously plotting to do it all over again…So, I attempt to instruct, plead for compassion and pray, pray, pray, that the darkness which covers them and is trying to get to me, will be struck with the Light of Christ, who is Mercy and Love and who loves them as much, if not more, than He loves me.  For I was once a lost soul too and someone somewhere prayed for me too! Shalom! :D
